Seth Rogen, Lonely Island Making Fyre Festival-Like Film

Following the Fyre Festival fiasco, Seth Rogen revealed that he and the comedy troupe the Lonely Island were secretly working on a movie that shared a similar plot with the canceled fest.

This seems like a good time to mention the movie we are making with [The Lonely Island] about a music festival that goes HORRIBLY WRONG, the actor tweeted (via The Hollywood Reporter).

The Lonely Island the Popstar crew of Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer confirmed Rogens tweet, joking that they were considering legal action Fyre co-founders Ja Rule and Billy McFarland for infringing on their plot.

For real, thinking about suing #FyreFestival for stealing our idea, the trio tweeted.

Its unclear whether Rogen and the Lonely Islands music fest film is an actual project or a joke at Fyres expense.

On Friday, organizers shut down the inaugural Fyre Festival, a luxury music fest stationed in the Bahamas, after early arriving attendees found a garbage-strewn, half-constructed site that was lacking many of the promised amenities that festivalgoers shelled out thousands for.

The plight of the Fyre festivalgoers reached notoriety Friday as photos of the celebrity chef-crafted meals a cheese and bread sandwich and resort-like villas disaster relief tents went viral. Attendees soon found themselves stranded in the Bahamas after the festival was postponed.

Ja Rule later apologized to attendees and promised everyone would be refunded their money. In a Rolling Stone interview, McFarland admitted that the massive undertaking that is coordinating a music festival overwhelmed the inexperienced organizers but pledged that Fyre would return in 2018.
