Following the arrival of Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, the other huge blockbusteron DC Comics cinematic slate, Suicide Squad, has unleashed its new trailer, with the ruthless villains joining up Dirty Dozen-style to take on a mysterious threat.
A common complaint from the critically savagedDawn of Justice was that the blockbuster lacked any humor. As a result of that criticism, the latest Suicide Squad trailer crams in the laughs in an effort to show that while it shares a cinematic universe with Batman Vs. Superman the Dark Knight even pops up in this trailer the film has its own light, but very violent tone.
Reports that Suicide Squad have undergone reshoots to pump more humor into the film following the joylessDawn of Justice have been denied; instead, Suicide Squaddirector David Ayer hintedthat the film wasadding more action sequences.
#SuicideSquadreshoots for humor is silly. When a studio loves your movie and asks what else you want, go for it! #ThanksWB #moreaction

Also featured in the new trailer: Lots of Jared Letos Joker, though its still unclear what role he plays in the film. (Online chatter has him as either part of the titular squad or orchestrating the situation that required the uniting of villains in the first place.)
Suicide Squad hits theaters August 5th.
