Thirteen years after the release of the cult classic cinematic miscreation The Room, the films two stars, writer/director Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero, have reunited for an upcoming film titled Best F(r)iends.
The Hollywood Reporter posted the first trailer for the Gary Fong-directed film, which stars Wiseau as a mortician who recruits Sesteros character to join him in an unexplained criminal enterprise.
The 13 years since The Room, considered one of the greatest worst movies of all time, havent dulled Wiseaus uncanny, inimitable acting abilities as his trademark, untraceable accent breathes life into every line of dialogue.
I think its a role that will really spotlight Tommys unique talent and charisma, while also setting up an unexpected and exciting reunion, Sestero told THR of the film. Wiseau added, After watching Best F(r)iends, your mind will find paradise.
After quietly filming in Canada and Los Angeles to keep the Wiseau/Sestero reunion secret, filmmakers are now seeking distribution for Best F(r)iends with hopes of a theatrical release.
The Sestero-penned behind-the-scenes story of The Room is currently in production as The Masterpiece, with James Franco and his brother Dave in the roles of Wiseau and Sestero.
