After Ryan Gosling crooned about City Stars in the first trailer for the upcoming musical La La Land, costar Emma Stone takes the lead in the new spot with Audition, a poignant love ballad.
The newly released trailer for Damien Chazelles film offers more surreal, stylized scenes of Los Angeles and romance between Stones frustrated actress and Goslings lovelorn jazz musician. As if in celebration of their starving-artist lifestyle, Stone sings out: Heres to the ones who dream/ Foolish as they may seem/ Heres to the hearts that ache/ Heres to the mess we make.
The new trailer offers even more fantastical imagery, syncing a shot of Stone and Gosling drifting into the cosmos at what appears to be a planetarium with Stones smoky line, She captured feeling/ Sky with no ceiling/ The sunset inside a frame.
La La Land also stars Finn Wittrock, John Legend, J.K. Simmons and Rosemarie DeWitt. The film comes to theaters in December.
