Watch Lin-Manuel Miranda, the Rock Team for Millennials: The Musical

Hamilton mastermind Lin-Manuel Miranda and Dwayne The Rock Johnson pulled back the curtain on their new collaboration, Millennials: The Musical, set to arrive on YouTube next week.

The whole endeavor is tied to Disneys upcoming animated movie, Moana which stars Johnson and features original music from Miranda and in a new short mockumentary, the pair discuss the magic of the stage while the production descends into chaos. Theater is a beautiful living, breathing thing to tread the boards is a duty and a blessing, Miranda says, while the Rock adds: As long as you dont fuck it up.

The pair go onto explain thatMillennialswas the brain child of a hot young director, Michael Palomar (played by Jack Jordan Norman), who pitched the pair via a Twitter DM. But as Miranda and Johnson pontificate on the intricacies of choreography and composing, as well as what emoji best describes them, Palomar embraces his artistic madness, nukes his show and attempts to rebuild it seven days before opening night. Im only doing this though because I see a fire deep in those eyes, Palomars composer says after the director demands he rewrite the score. I know, Palomar replies, Im seeing a doctor for it.

Millennials: The Musicalwill premiere on Johnsons YouTube channel November 29th. Meanwhile, Moanaopens tomorrow, November 23rd. Moanamarks Mirandas first major project since leaving Hamilton, though he began work on the films score and songs while still performing the in the show. Opetaia Foai and Mark Mancina also contributed original music to the soundtrack.
