The first The Force Awakens trailer arrived 11 months ago; it was followed in April with the first look at Harrison Ford reprising his role of Han Solo.The new film will feature cast members from the original Star Warstrilogy, includingFord, Carrie FisherandMark Hamill, reprising their roles alongside newcomersJohn Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Lupita Nyongo, Max von Sydow and Andy Serkis.
The Star Wars saga will continue in 2016 with an anthology film titled Rogue One. That movie, which precedes Star Wars: A New Hope in the franchises line, will focus on the mission to steal the plans for the Death Star, which sparked the action of the 1977 film. Directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Hannibals Mads Mikkelsen and Forest Whitaker, Rogue One is due out December 16, 2016.
The Rian Johnson-directed proper sequelto The Force Awakens Star Wars: Episode VIII in the chronology will tentatively arrive on May 26th, 2017.
