Batman v Superman, Zoolander 2 Lead 2017 Razzie Nominations

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Zoolander 2 lead the nominees for the 37th annual Golden Raspberry Awards(The Razzies), which highlights the worst achievements in film.Batman v Superman,described as a WTF comic book battle-royale and the 15-years-too-late Zoolander sequel are both up for Worst Picture, among numerous other undesired awards.

Zoolander 2, Ben Stillers follow-up to the 2001 cult-classic comedy, tops the pack with nine nominations. Trailing behind is Batman v Superman (eight),Dirty Grandpa (six),Gods of Egypt(five),Hillarys America:The Secret History of the Democratic Party(five),Independence Day: Resurgence (five) and Alice Through the Looking Glass (three).

Stiller, who directed, co-wrote and starred in Zoolander, is nominated for Worst Actor, Worst Director and Worst Screen Combo, the latter alongside co-star/BFF (Barely Funny Friend), Owen Wilson. The film is also up for Worst Supporting Actor (Wilson, Will Ferrell) and Worst Supporting Actress (Kristen Wiig).

Batman v Superman, both Ben Affleck (Batman) and Henry Cavill (Superman) get slammed with Worst Actor and Worst Screen Combo, with Cavill described as Afflecks BFF, or Baddest Foe Forever. The film is also up for Worst Supporting Actor (Jessie Eisenbergs Lex Luthor), Worst Director (Zack Snyder) and Worst Screenplay.

The Razzies expanded from five to six nominees per category for its 2016 edition, citing a rising crop of cinematic crap. Some well-respected actors were singled out this year, including Robert De Niro (Dirty Grandpa), Julia Roberts (Mothers Day), Naomi Watts (both Divergent Series: Allegiant and Shut-In) and Johnny Depp (Alice Through the Looking Glass). The Razzies also blast the ensemble cast of drama Collateral Beauty, which includes Will Smith, Ed Norton, Keira Knightley, Kate Winslet and Helen Mirren.
