Fifty Shades of Gag: Peter Travers on Februarys Worst Films

Its been a bitter, cold February and Rolling Stones fearless movie critic Peter Travershas no residual love left over from Valentines Day for the 10 most terrible movies of the month.

Kicking off Travers list of Februarys worst films is Old Fashioned, a faith-based love story that fogs windows not with sex, but lots of talk. Next, Spike Lees current slump continues with Da Sweet Blood of Jesus, a flat remake of the 1973 horror film Ganja & Hess; meanwhile, Hugh Grant misses the mark with The Rewrite, a dull comedy in which he plays a floundering screenwriter.

Also headed for his trusty scum bucket: Everly, a revenge thriller staring Salma Hayek thats far too Quentin Tarantino-esque for its own good;Jupiter Ascending, the latest sci-fi epic from Matrix maestros Andy and Lana Wachowski; the redundant Hot Tub Time Machine 2; and Seventh Son, which cruelly reunites The Big Lebowskis Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore for a miserable, less-than-mediocre medieval tale. And while Will Smith and Margot Robbies sexy con artist gambit Focusseems perfect on paper, Travers says its not fooling anyone.

But none of these movies can compete with the torture that was Februarys worst, and most viewed, movie: Fifty Shades of Grey. They just remade Twilight! Travers saysof Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnsons not-so scintillating S&M flick. This movie is so not erotic, its the equivalent of an afternoon shopping exhibit at Pottery Barn. I hated it with a vengeance. Get me my whips ok, I dont have whips, but I do have my scum bucket.
