With just over a month before the latest James Bond installment Spectre opens, the final trailer for the film has been released. After a series of backstory-heavyteasers and commercials that merely hinted at the fight between Daniel Craigs James Bond and Christoph Waltzs Franz Oberhauser with the villain often shrouded in darkness the final trailer finds Oberhauser stepping out of the shadows for a confrontation between the two leads.
Why did you come? Oberhauser asks Bond in a sunlithallway. I came here to kill you, Bond admits, with his enemy retorting, And I thought you came here to die. Well, its all a matter of perspective, 007 quips.
Elsewhere in the clip, the polished SPECTRE ring with its tentacled emblem that appeared in earlier previewsis now crusted with dry blood, hinting at another fierce altercation between the secret agent and the clandestine organization.Spectre, the 24th installment in the franchise and Craigs fourth stint as 007, marks SPECTREs first appearance in a Bond film since 1971s Diamonds Are Forever.
The trailer also offers a passing glimpse at new Bond girl La Seydoux and spotlights some of the films big budget action pieces, including an escape from collapsing ruins, destructive car chases, a Dia de los Muetros parade in Mexico City and a fistfight aboard a spiraling helicopter. Noticeably absent from the preview: Any hint of the ridiculous gadgetry that plagued the Pierce Brosnan era, as well as the films new theme song,Sam Smiths The Writing on the Wall.
Spectre comes crashing into theaters on November 6th.
