The Graduate to Return to Theaters for 50th Anniversary

The groundbreaking 1967 comedy The Graduate will return to theaters this month to mark the classic films 50^th anniversary.

A new 4K restoration of The Graduate will first premiere April 8^th at Hollywoods Graumans Chinese Theatre as part of the TCM Classic Film Festival. Two weeks later, from April 23^rd to April 26^th, the restoration will expand to 700 multiplexes nationwide for TCM and Fathom Events monthly TCM Big Screen Classics series.

Director Mike Nichols unlikely blockbuster the film cost $3 million and brought back $105 million at the box office, or over $750 million when adjusted for inflation stars Dustin Hoffman as the titular college graduate who wrestles with life decisions while balancing a relationship with the older Mrs. Robinson (and later, Mrs. Robinsons daughter).

A fixture of countless greatest comedies and best movies of the Sixties lists and, thanks to Simon & Garfunkels famed contributions, one of Rolling Stones 25 Greatest Soundtracks of All Time The Graduate was nominated for seven Academy Awards, with Nichols winning Best Director.
