Watch Eagles of Death Metal Talk Deadly Bataclan Attack in New Doc Trailer

HBO will air the first documentary about the deadly 2015 terrorist attack at Paris Bataclan Theater next month. The first look at the film, titledEagles of Death Metal: Nos Amis (Our Friends), features chilling audible footage of gunfire amid the American rock bands 2015 concert.

The Colin Hanks-directed documentary focuses on Eagles of Death Metals emotional journey after the attack, combining a return to Paris for their first post-Bataclan concert with interviews from Eagles of Death Metal singer Jesse Hughes, Bono, Josh Homme and others.

The California rock band, known for their ironic, lighthearted lyrics and performances, earned unwelcome worldwide atention after Islamic State terrorists opened fire during their concert, killlng 89 people and injured 368 people.

Very few people have stared down cold-blooded evil, Bono says in the trailer. Last year, U2 brought Eagles of Death Metal onstage during their Paris performance.

Hanks told Deadline that the documentary wont walk around the controversial statements made by Eagles rocker Hughes. In a Fox Business interview, Hughes insinuated that Bataclan personnel had prior knowledge of the attack. Hughes has since recanted that statement. Hughes also said he felt Frances gun control laws were partially to blame for the tragedy. As a result, Bataclan co-owner Jules Frutos allegedly barred Hughes from returning to the club and numerous French music festivals dropped Eagles of Death Metal from their lineups last summer.
