Adam Sandlerwill unite with David Spade, Nick Swardson and Rob Schneider for The Do-Over comedy tour, which features seven American performances in May. The brief jaunt, presented by Netflix and featuring special guests, will kick off May19th in San Francisco and conclude on the 27th in Uncasville, Connecticut, according to a post on Sandlers Facebook.
The final show coincides with the Netflix premiere of Sandlers latest film, The Do-Over, in which he and Spade fake their own deaths in an attempt at a new life, only to discover unexpected danger with their new identities. Swardson also appears in the Steven Brill-directed film.
Last week, the streaming service previewed the project with a 30-second teaser, which features an array of over-the-top snippets: a car crash, gun play and bikini-clad women giggling at a naked man. You sure about this, tough guy? Sandler asks Spade. Fuck yes, he responds.
In 2015, Netflix released Sandlers The Ridiculous Six, the first in a four-film deal with the company. That movie, a Western parody, faced backlash over its portrayal of Native Americans. Nearly a dozen extras left the movie, criticizing the script forperpetuating stereotypeslike the drunk Indian.
I talked to some of the actors on the set who were there and let them know that the intention of the movie is 100 percent to just make a funny movie,Sandler said in response to the controversy. Its really about American Indians being good to my character and about their family and just being good people. Theres no mocking of American Indians at all in the movie. Its a pro-Indian movie.
