Pete Davidsons love for the Harry Potter series is well-documented. The 22-year-old has shared it with fans on social media once live-tweeting a rewatch of the films for his followers and marking his adoration for the films permanently with multiple tattoos in honor of the series. During a visit to the Rolling Stone office, theSNL star discussed his love for the series in detail.
When I was seven or eight, the first movie came out on my birthday, and I read all the books. I was very excited, Davidson reveals of how he got his start. As for the appeal, the comedian considers it to be one of the few series aimed for young audiences to avoid being corny, in contrast to Twilight and the Divergent crap, as he refers to it.
Its not a lame-ass love story that they try to put into everything, he continues. Harry doesnt get pussy, like, once. Its great. He doesnt change his fuckin haircut or dye his hair like they do in Divergent. It all fuckin sucks.
Comedy is the other passion in Davidsons life, and hell be embarking on his first national stand-up tour this summer. He cites Bill Burr and Dave Chappelle as heroes who have also become his friends. Thats my favorite thing out of everything, he says. I started because of them, and now I get to talk to them a little bit. Its pretty cool!
Bill Hader, another of his heroes, helped launch the young comics career, introducing him to Lorne Michaels thatled to a successful audition for the long-running show. I owe him everything, Davidson says of his Trainwreck co-star. With his job, one of the perks has been meeting the guests. You get to hang out, with like, Miley Cyrus for a week. Its pretty cool.
