After exposing itself at Comic Con, The Blair Witch Project's surprise sequel has offered up another terrifying look at the upcoming found-footage horror film.
While the film's first trailer acted as a rapid-fire overview that replanted the protagonists and viewers alike back in the Maryland woods, the latest preview zeroes in on one petrifying scene: A lead character falls down a trap door and must crawl through a narrow underground path, with her video camera capturing the tense, claustrophobic action. There are no visible scares, but the mood alone is enough to frighten moviegoers.
The sequel, titled simply Blair Witch, arrives in multiplexes September 23rd. Director Adam Wingard, who previously helmed You're Next and The Guest, made the film under the working title The Woodsto keep a veil of secrecy over the sequel, the first film in the Blair Witch series since 2000's Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2.
