The films plot boils down to a broken man living in the wilderness (Dano) and his unnatural, possibly imagined interactions with the Harry Potter stars semi-reanimated dead body. The new trailer also delves into the meaning of the films title as Dano uses Radcliffes body for a variety of wilderness skills, like using his teeth to cut rope and his corpse as a makeshift raft. The film opens June 24th.
Swiss Army Man was written and directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, the production duo known as the Daniels that was responsible for DJ Snake and Lil Jons similarly erection-driven music videofor Turn Down for What. As the Daniels explained to Rolling Stone after their film wowed the Sundance audience, the basic concept for the movie was borne out of a 17-word sentence: We need to make a movie about a man who rides a farting corpse across the ocean.
