A band of rebels led by Felicity Jones face off against storm troopers, dodge AT-AT fire and seekto infiltrate Empire strongholds in the first trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
The film marks the space sagasfirst live-action anthology film and stars Jones as Jyn Erso, a budding criminalwhos recruited to uncover details about a major upcoming Empire weapons test. As expected, that weapon isthe Death Star, and the plansseem to be the same ones that helped the Rebel Alliance destroy it in A New Hope.
The trailer offers shots of the infamousfloating murder machine, as well as an exciting montage of action sequencesand one classic, cocky one-linerfrom Jynto set the stakes: This is a rebellion isnt it? I rebel.
Rogue Onealso starsForrest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Diego Luna and Donnie Yen. It was directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) and is set to open on December 16th. Rian Johnsonsas-yet-untitled Episode VIII will follow in December 2017.
