Watch Beatles Early Concert Footage in Ron Howards New Doc

After last months announcement that Ron Howards Beatles documentary would launch Hulu Documentary Films, a release date and trailer have been revealed. The Beatles: Eight Days a Week The Touring Years will hit theaters on September 15th and the streaming service on September 17th.

Howard first announced that he was working on a Beatles documentary in 2014, telling Rolling Stone that he would be utilizing rare, silent Super 8 footage for much of the film and working closely with surviving member Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr as well as the widows of deceased members John Lennon and George Harrison, Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison.

Well not only be able to digitally repair [the Super 8 footage], but weve also been finding the original recordings, Howard said in the same interview. We can now sync it up and create a concert experience so immersive and so engaging, I believe youre going to actually feel like youre somewhere in the Sixties, seeing what it was like to be there, feeling it and hearing it. And as a film director, thats a fantastic challenge.

The film will trace the bands earliest years, capturing the young Fab Four from 1962 through 1966. The films trailer captures the early mayhem of Beatlemania, exploring both their youthful exuberance that was captured in the music as well as the fear and danger of being so famous.

For the films U.S. theatrical release, which will hit only select theaters throughout the country, Hulu will partner with indie distributor Abramorama. A partnership with StudioCanal will make the film available in the U.K., France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand as well, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
