Megyn Kelly, Roger Ailes Sexual Harassment Film in the Works

A film inspired by Fox News employeessexual harassment allegations against former Fox chairman, Roger Ailes, is on the way, according to the Hollywood Reporter.Oscar-winning screenwriter Charles Randolph (The Big Short) will write the screenplay, which was scooped by producer Megan Ellisons production company, Annapurna.

The film focuses on the struggle of female employees like Gretchen Carlson, who sued Ailes for sexual harassment, and Megyn Kelly, who later alleged she had been sexually harassed by Ailes. Randolphs film has not yet secured life rights from its subjects, but Deadline adds that Ailes is a character in the untitled film. Ailes resigned from Fox News in July, just days after Kelly accused him of sexual harassment.

In Kellys recent memoir Settle for More, she wrote about incidents involving Ailes, including one encounter where the chairman repeatedly tried to grab her and kiss her. The women of Fox News who, with their stiletto shoes and nerves of steel, formed an underground army of sorts, and at great risk to their livelihoods, brought down a very powerful serial sexual harasser, Kelly said at a THR event this week.

The Kelly/Ailes film is the second project dedicated to the former Fox News chief that has been green-lit. A planned miniseries based on New York writer Gabriel Shermans reporting on Ailes alleged sexual harassment is also in the works.
